i have much to share about my weekend and the beginning of this week.. so much that if i begin to describe it all, i fear it will all translate sort of sloppy and confusing. instead a few things + pictures. :)
*i ordered this simple ring for myself, a rare 'full price' indulgence.. i love delicate, handmade jewelry.
*on friday night, i stretched out on our living room floor after some friend-play for a listen to dr. mark hyman in conversation with tami simon.. this led to a commitment to go dairy-free for the next few months (an experiment i've been meaning to try for a while). i am still drinking coffee but replacing cream with almond milk. so far? so yummy.
*i had an 'aha' moment during an energy session with my awesome, insightful healer.. he reminded me that our natural state of being is peace and all we must do is relax into it, trust it, stop fighting so damn hard against it.. right.
*i wore my favorite squash blossom necklace (thank you, mom!) and a thrifted h&m dress without tights..
*i walked toward the food coop to make this summery cocktail and ended up picking up the creative habit at a stoop sale and rereading it on a bench instead..
*my sexy boyfriend and i had a date on saturday night.. we set our table with candles and flowers. n made pizza with olives, zaatar, and roasted tomatoes + green salad and i sliced melon + nectarines for a perfect summer meal. we then headed a few blocks over to prospect park (we live here?! thank you, universe!) for a bit of hot + steamy dancing with afrocubism..
*i suspended my facebook account for a break because i felt like the energy put in was way out balance with what i received + it was encouraging a lack of focus.. goodbye for now dear friends and people i hardly know. (image via pinterest)
*i fantasized about letting go of my long hair, too.. and quickly realized how much maintenance it would require.
*i found this super greens powder and have been blending it obsessively with loads of ice + filtered water + half a juice of lemon + lemon rind for texture (optional) + raw apple cider vinegar + a splash of fruit juice for sweetness. i. am. addicted.. i dare you to try it.
*and last night, after a very busy monday, i introduced n to vicky cristina barcelona.. one of my favorite woody allen flicks, for sure.
